Monday Musings

Monday Monday, so good to me,
Monday Monday, it was all I hoped it would be

So funny but the word Monday always gets me thinking of the song from the Mamas and Papas. I guess you don’t always choose what songs imprint your subconscious.

It’s going to be a very nice week and i plan to make the best of it. We should stay in the mid 80’s and I plan to go a lot to the beach. Morning trips to the beach and returning before the hot hours of the midday. I also have to sneak in some work here and there so the best way to keep everyone happy was to set up a routine. A beach day routine and a quiet day routine. A balance between activities and rest, my children enjoy their pajama days as much as going to the beach.

Other than trying to be productive while on a family vacation. I have been trying to wake up an hour earlier than the children to drink my tea quietly, read or journal before the day starts. I find I am a much better person if I can sneak some me time during the day. I find that the early morning read lends itself to inspirational readings.

After reading I thought it was just me by Brene Brown and Zen Mind, Beginner’s Mind I find myself yearning for more of these type of books. I won This I know by Susannah Conway on Amanda’s blog and I can’t wait for my husband to bring it over with him. All of those readings have made me pick up my journal and write more about my inner life and all the ideas that swim in my brain right now.

What have you been reading for inspiration? do you have any small and sacred rituals or spaces you create for yourself to allow time for inspiration and renewal?

Please share!

  1. I always think of the exact same song!Sadly, I do not have much time for me carved out of our routine. I know we would all be better off if I could find that, but I just haven’t figured out when yet. Lately I’ve been reading Taproot, but a copy of Maria Montesorri’s Own Notebook arrived recently from Amazon.

  2. I like to get up early too, have coffee before the kids get up, write in my journal and read blogs. I also like when I can get to the pool to swim a few laps by myself.

  3. my mornings are mine. i have to get up an hour or so, before the teenagers. i sip my coffee slowly, reading a book, going over my calendar for the day.i love this post. filled with inspiration. xo
