Reading :: Knitting

:: Reading – The Lifeboat by Charlotte Rogan. Grace returns to America after she weds Henry. The elegant ocean liner carrying them sinks and Henry secures a seat for Grace on a lifeboat. That’s where the similarities to the Titanic ends. This story is about survival and power plays. It’s the story of conflict: class distinctions, male versus female, man against nature, convention as opposed to necessity. We slowly discover Grace’s ability to survive through any situation: by marrying into money, by choosing to ally with the most powerful, by deceiving her lawyer… It was a good read even though the end left me a bit disappointed.

In that case I am barking mad. I had attempted to knit the Tomten 3 years ago and I had to give up with just one sleeve still to finish. So much yarn, so many rows of purl… I must have forgotten because I attempted yet another one for miss L. I am almost done with one sleeve and please pray that I stick with the second one. 😉
